Corporate Translations is awarded EN 15038:2006 Certification by the European Committee for Standardization
(East Hartford, CT) April 8, 2009
Corporate Translations announced today that it has received EN 15038:2006 certification. EN 15038:2006 was established by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) in 2006, and this certification provides both translation service providers and their clients with clear criteria for achieving the highest quality translations possible. The standard's most noteworthy features include mandating that multiple qualified linguists review each translation, and specifying the professional competences of each participant in the translation process (i.e., translators, reviewers, revisers, and proofreaders).
To achieve this certification, Corporate Translations was audited by SGS Systems & Services Certifications, an internationally recognized independent certifying organization. In conducting the assessment, SGS audited and evaluated Corporate Translations production centers in East Hartford, CT and Chicago, IL on a range of factors, including freelance translator and employee qualifications, technical resources, vendor-client communication procedures, and quality management. Corporate Translations’ quality management system is also certified to ISO 9001:2000, a rigorous international quality assurance standard.
Corporate Translations President and Founder Mary Gawlicki remarked, “We are pleased to announce that we are now one of the only translation companies officially audited and certified to both EN 15038:2006 and ISO 9001:2000 standards for providing both translation and linguistic validation solutions.”
